ODOR NEUTRALIZER - Home / Hotel

HOTEL

Hotels, motels and resorts all contend with malodors of one form or another. An independent consulting company was hired by an international hotel chain to conduct a survey to identify the top complaints guests registered with their hotels. The number one complaint across the board was:

“There is a smoke odor or other foul odor in the room.”

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of the people who were surveyed listed that they had an allergy of one sort or another that was aggravated by smoke odors AND/OR the citrus and floral scents that were used in the rooms to clean and mask foul odors. The foul odor complaints were not limited to large international hotel chains, small independent hotels and motels, extended stay suites, apartment complexes, and condominiums also list odor problems as their number one complaint. Countless dollars have been spent by the hospitality industry to deal with foul odor/indoor air quality issues.

When we began testing our Expel products in the hospitality industry we encountered a fair amount of skepticism. We were not the first product representatives to come knocking at their door promising to eliminate their odors… but we were the first with a product that lived up to its claims. The resorts we partnered with for our tests had tried cover up products and ozone machines and some even tried enzyme cleaners only to find that the odors had returned by the time the guest was introduced to the room. The air fresheners (also called perfumes and masking agents) only lasted 20 or so minutes, and failed to eliminate the malodor. By the time a guest arrived, the air freshener sprayed by the housekeeping staff when the room was cleaned four hours earlier had long since dissipated.

Universally the only thing that can permanently eliminate odors, and turn a smoking room into a non smoking room in 30 minutes or less is our Expel™ product. All areas of service in your property can be treated with Expel products to eliminate malodors quickly and easily:

•        Bar and Lounge
•        Restaurants and Kitchens
•        Pool and Shower areas
•        Gym or Work out room

Malodors no longer have to be a problem or a loss of money. Expel products solve odor problems quickly and permanently.

LAUNDRY
Add two ounces of Odor Neutralizer to the water of each load.

FRONT LOAD WASHER ODOR
The problem exists because the front loaders are sealed tight, so the moisture does not evaporate as in a traditional washer.  Wherever there is moisture long enough, there is mold/mildew.  The mold/mildew is what you smell. So...

1) Get all of the clothes out and open the door and let it dry completely.
2)  Look behind the door seal on the washer (not on the door) and examine the drum for ooey gooey mold/mildew.
3)  Remove any mold/mildew with a rag by holding the rag behind the seal and rotating the drum.
4)  Spray Odor Neutralizer directly on the area by holding back the seal and spraying, rotate the drum and repeat until you have done the entire area.
5)  Pour in 1 quart Odor Neutralizer into your soap area and run the washer with no clothes.  If you happen to have a machine that has the silver sanitizer, you can run it on that option.
6)  You can wash your smelly clothes caused by the washer, wash with 16 oz. Odor Neutralizer.  On regular loads to keep all clothes smelling clean, use 2 - 6 oz. per load with your normal detergent.
6)  Check behind the seal every 2 - 3 weeks to make sure you keep it away.

Surface Odors

  • Lightly spray the entire surface with Odor Neutralizer. Spray enough formula onto the surface so that it is moist to the touch. Next, lightly brush Odor Neutralizer into the surface areas with a brush or your fingertips. Wait 5 minutes and smell the results. If odor is still present, re-treat the surface and brush in. Note: This step, in most cases, is all that is requried. Treating the air in the room that the furniture or carpet is located is recommended. When treating the air in a room, go to farthest corner of the room from the door, holding bottle over your head, trigger spray towards ceiling while backing out of the room.

Allow this to dry somewhat before continuing the odor removal procedures. Odor Neutralizer has a pH range of approximately 7.0 (neutral) to 9.5 and works best in an alkaline environment. Other products may have an acid base, and they should be neutralized by this treatment baking soda treatment first. (Do not use with acidic or vinegar solutions).
  • Where animal urine or body secretions have occurred and penetration has reached the hard surface of the under floor, or with a long standing problem, apply Odor Neutralizer by pouring it directly on the odor source and allow it to remain very damp for up to 10 minutes. (It is important for Odor Neutralizer to have ample time to soak through the pad to the under floor.) Soak up any remaining solution with a clean towel.
  • When using Odor Neutralizer in a carpet cleaning (shampoo) machine add 2-4 ounces of Odor Neutralizer to each gallon of cleaning solution. If steam cleaning the carpet, add 2-4 ounces to each 5 gallons of steam cleaning solution.

"To Whom It May Concern...
I'm writing this letter to relate the success we have had with the Expel odor neutralizer... We have had problems with various odors throughout the year and have tried many products to resolve them. We first contracted... Expel... to treat the duct system of the Rosebud theatre due to an old stale mold/mildew type odor of which we received frequent complaints. We noticed a major improvement in the theatres smell and atmosphere after the ducts, walls, carpets, and seating were treated. We have been especially pleased with the fact that Expel produces a fresh clean smell without leaving a heavy fragrance, no new odors. In closing, I would like to say we intend to use more Expel, it works great in public area restrooms, campus vehicles, and on plumbing and air conditioning in wall leaks. We recently had a dead animal removed from underneath the housing office building. After three days of smelling that intense odor, finally the decayed remains were located and removed. The facility was then fogged with Expel, all was back to normal the following day.

Sincerely,
